On my way into the hospital this morning, riding my bike, I was hailed twice by national Batswana:
"Are you American?"
"Yes."
"Congratulations!!!"
Truly historic for the US and the rest of the world.
All the hospital staff were already up to speed about the results and were talking about it incessantly.
Amazing.

I'm cautiously optimistic =) A lot of problems for any one man... hopefully he picks a strong cabinet. By the way, I'm really glad you are blogging. It is nice to get the view from the Papa seat =) Love you! Shan
Historic indeed. Amazing how hopeful everyone is all of the sudden, like maybe there's a way out of this mess. He has a ton of work in front of him, but we're already closer friends with most of the world by virtue of one election. Yeah us! Finally...
Fun time to watch TV last night. At least I don't have to look into moving to Canada. I was very determined to not endure another 8 years like the last ones. Lots of work to do, but at least a chance of getting some things right.
What an interesting time for you and Lynne to be in Bots. We miss you!
